Elaine Ione Sprauve Library & Museum of Cultural Arts

The Elaine Ione Sprauve Library and Museum and Cultural Arts, is also known as the Enighed Estate Great House, which was built in 1757, and housed a sugar factory and horse-driven mill. The estate and house changed ownership multiple times and in the early 1900s a fire destroyed the greathouse. On July 1, 1976 the site was admitted to the National Register of Historic Places.Then in 1980 the building was restored and renamed to the Elaine Ione Sprauve Library and Museum of Cultural Arts in honor of Mrs. Sprauve the first teacher/librarian on the island of St. Thomas.
