USVI Historic Buildings Archive
Unveiling History Through Architecture
Programs
The Virgin Islands Historic Buildings Archives vision is to bring awareness of historic buildings and information to the world. The Educational and Cultural Tours help students, locals, and tourists learn about the past through educational tours of Historic Buildings with Curator Kim A. Blackett. Book a tour to visit one of the Historical Buildings listed in the collection above.

The Educational and Cultural Tours program provides historical and educational
information about the historic buildings in the collection. Each historic building is identified
by its name with facts or significant events about the building; as well as list the importance
on why people should explore, visit, and support efforts to preserve these historic buildings.
The education and cultural tours are promoted heavily in the Summer when students are out
on summer break from school. Along with our education and cultural tours program, coloring
books about the Virgin Islands Historic Buildings are given to the students to help assist with
literacy and engagement on the subject matter.

The goals for the Educational and Cultural Tours Program are:
-
To encourage preservation of historic buildings
-
To promote literacy and cultural engagement through visiting historical buildings
-
To encourage locals, and students to build relationships with the community curators,
-
librarians, and or archivists
